Sprocket shaft seal.

2006 yz 450. The case doesnt have to be split to replace this seal like on the 2 strokes does it?

Not on my '06 WR anyhow. I just did mine last weekend. Pull the countershaft sprocket, remove two bolts & the spacer, and pull the seal. Replace the seal along with the o-ring inside the spacer and your leak should be fixed. Maniac

Make sure your tranny bearing is good. if your chain has been run too tight it could have an issue.
