I know there is a lot about Carb Pilot adjustment and proper tuning. My idle is turned all the way to the right, meaning all the way open i guess. Bike will not idle for very long and will die sometimes during riding.

do i need to open the pilot up?

What kind of tool do i need to adjust?

sorry i am a rookie and a noob

You need a very short, narrow bladed screwdriver, unless the previous owner has an extended screw installed:
