McGrath on a 426 outdoors!

Recommended Posts

This sounds really cool, but I'm a little confused.

What series is this? It's not the AMA Chevy's Outdoors....right? I checked out SuperCross.Com but couldn't find any info. Any insights on where to get more info?

it wouldnt be the first time for MC on a 426. i know that he personally owns a very trick (of course) 01 426. and has raced it at a few races, i remember seeing a few photos of him in magazines charging hard on it. he looks good on it, but i think it has a bit much bark for him ? he better stay on the two smoke. although it would be interesting to see him ride the 250f in the 125"s also. anyway, just thought id add that.

Jeremy McGrath has entered this years Mammoth Motocross in the 125, 250 & open classes. He's going to race a YZf426 on open day. Grant Langston is also entered in all 3 Pro classes. David Vuillemin won all 3 last year. It could be a heck of shoot out in the open class with KTM's vs. the YZF's. It's June 21-24th.

I watched him practicing on his 426 last Thursday and he looked awesome on it, just as fast as I've seen him ride his 250 on the same track.

I was riding along minding my own business when he came by me so fast I thought I had accidentally shifted into reverse. ?

The Mammoth Motocross is the largest non sactioned motocross around. About 1400 racers show up every June since 1968. It's in California's Eastern Sierra town of Mammoth Lakes. Most of America's Motocross Stars have raced here at one point in thier career. It's 8000' up in the mountains and one of the best tracks that you'll ever find.

Check it out at www.mammothmotocross.com

What track did you see him at?

At Elsinore, he must go there a lot because I've seen him there several times over the past year. In the past I've only seen him on the main track but last week he was on the Vet track while the main track was getting watered and I've never seen anyone go that fast on the Vet track.

Motogreg,

Do you ride Elsinore often? I try to make it out there one day every weekend. It's my favorite track cause they consistantly change it. I'm hoping to go up there tomorrow. I live in San Diego. If you're there and you see me say hello. I'm pretty noticable. I have a 99' YZ400 with the full yellow plastics and the Hurrican sticker kit. I also usually wear Blue riding Shorts with bright red knee braces. Basically look for the only guy on a yellow bike riding in blue shorts, chances are it's me. Let me know when you're going up there again. I can't make it on week days (work) but usually on weekends, I'm always up for meeting new riders. I love the technical new middle section on the main track that they made about 2 weeks ago.

I'm not the type of person to show off or anything but I love riding in shorts. SMP makes riding pants that unzip at the knee and can be worn as shorts. I never wore them as shorts until I got my Asterisk knee braces. I've got full coverage eventhough I'm just wearing the shorts without the legs zipped on. It's great in hot weather!! I do wear the pant legs when it's cold out though.
