Well after 3 years of hearing how the 98's kickstarter's break, mine broke! First ride of the day, kicked her to warm her up, and crunch.....Oh well, gonna see of yamaha will replace it but i think my chances are slim to none. So, The ???. Who makes aftermarket kickstarers that will hold up? Has anyone had any problems with the "new" stock unit? Thanks guys.

I was also goig to suggest BBR. Just this afternoon, I was surfing the web and saw another kickstarter manufacturer.....can't remember who it was but I think it was in the Rocky Mountain catalog. Damn...wish I could remember who made it. Anyway, it was slightly shorter than stock and had a steel insert where it mounts on the shaft for good reliability.

Pro-Tec makes a black billet kick starter lever, although I haven't used or seen it. It goes for $139.95 and can be seen at
