hey guys i recently bought an 04 yz450 f and i noticed that the frame actually has oil in it, i was wondering what the oil in the fram was for? do i have to change it? also i just had the carbs rebuilt yesterday because it wasnt starting. how long can i expect the carbs on the bike to last?

The oil in your frame should be drained out when you change your oil. You should drain the bottom end first, then drain the frame incase there is anything left in it ... Throw a new filter at it with 1.2 quarts of good 4t oil and call it a day ... The carb may be a crap shoot ... I have an 04' and clean it out twice a year because I think it matters ... My buddy has an 05' and I cleaned it for him 2 years ago, I haven't touched it since ...
