Does anyone know if a 2004 YZ 250 two stroke shock will work on my 2008 YZ450F?
Thanks!

Not as well as the '08 does. It will fit, but it's shorter, and the internals aren't as good.

How much shorter? Cause right now I have the shock off my 09 yz450 right next to a shock off a 03 yz125 and they visually appear to be exactly the same measurement.

My understanding was that the earlier YZ450 shock was a few mm shorter (remember that a change in shock length shows up 3 times as big at the rear wheel.

The earlier shocks have a 2mm smaller shaft, also. The later ones are just better.

I understand it wont perform as well. This shock will just be part of a low budget option to get me riding until I get my suspension back from SPI.
