Still have one rad blocked off on my 2010 and it's summer!

Just an update but last winter I was doing some riding in very cold temps. I blocked off one of the rads to keep heat up in the engine which allows for proper combustion.

It's now summer, and I've gone out in 20 degree celcius weather with a peak temp of 98 degree's celcius on the water temp of the bike. This was desertish riding with lots of twist turns, and techincal stuff.
Fuel injection seems to really keep the temps down for the 4 stroke MX Motor, I still haven't taken the cardboard that's blocking off the entire left rad out yet.

The water temps that I'm seeing in the mountains is about 60-70 degree's celcius but there are tons and tons of water holes/puddles from all the snow run-off. Elevation is about 3500-7000 feet. Again this was about 19 degree's celcius out.

I'm running a power commander 5 with the FMF slip on map and the jay marmot ignition map.

I wonder if in the future they are going to need to incorperate some type of thermostat to accurately control cooling system temps so the FI can be more easily and consistantly mapped .

Side note, but I find it somewhat amusing that you posted temps in Celsius, but elevations in feet :ride:

It's even funnier when a limey gets on and talks metric and Celsius but then posts his weight in stone. :ride:

Yes it is weird but that's how things are up here.

School teaches you metric, all the way through, but if you take shop class or mechanics, things are all done in imperial.
When you get out of school and you want to get into a trade, you can throw out ALL Of that metric BS they crammed our heads with for 10 years and start using imperial. All the trades, all the blue collar jobs, use inches lol.
When you fill your car with gas, or your talking fluids like oil radiator etc they are all sold in metric mostly. There are a couple of brands like chevron etc that sell in quarts still.

That's not entirely true, a fair few welding shops rock metric measurements.

Other than that we can't decide what we want to use.
