My thought also when he mentioned liking the Yamaha. There are many positive attributes of the 06-09 YZF, but eager turning is not one of them.

At this point it's clear the OP has decided the bike is the problem, and he may be right that it cannot be setup to work with his riding style. Sell it and buy a Kawi or Yamaha. Either will feel more stable in the turns.

I think the honda is a far more twitchy than a yamaha and perhalps my riding style fits a yamaha. I am hoping that I can get the honda to work the way I want because it would really suck to have to start over on a new bike. I make good money but I just had a kid with some medical complications and its draining most of my paychecks.

If you think that bike is twitchy, you should have ridden a 93' CR250, or worse yet, the 82' CR250. My 82' (I bought it new if that tells ya anything) would shake its head so bad it'd rip the bars out of your hands with alarming regularity. But it'd turn inside a dime on ice with bald tires too :smirk:

I don't disagree. The '06-'09 YZF is a boat in the turns, comparatively speaking.

The crfs are really twitchy. I think Thats why u are not faster. Also if the wr was stiffer than your bike Maby you need to stiffen it up. Also if you could have someone really good with suspension watch you and advise you on your setup. Try another yamaha. A 450 Maby the geometry gave you more confidence from its stability. And if the bike had more power would have been faster than your times with the honda.

Also the other difference is the Honda feels like its setup for a vertically challenged person. I had to make down ans back peg brackets. And up and forward bar mounts because I'm 6,1 with long arms the Honda felt like a cr80 the yamaha might be a little bigger. A kawi bigger yet.

It has stock suspension valving buy much stiffer springs meant for someone that weighs 225 and the tires were about 60 percent. Besides that it is bone stock

I have to quote this, this guy is openly admiting his girlfriend is 225lbs!

Good god! and she's only on a 250? get her a KX500 stat!

could you please send me a little extra money (seems like you got it) i need to rebuild my motor. i own a 2010 crf 450 and love it only mod is stiffer fork springs to take that stinkbug problem away(most likely what you are feeling)... After reading all your mods they in theory go against each other.
