Finally got my bike together

Recommended Posts

I just picked up this 09 a couple of weeks ago and I've spent the last couple of weeks getting parts together and working on it to get it ready for a riding trip this weekend.

Mods:

Rekluse Pro

Rekluse left hand rear brake

Suspension revalved and sprung for woods by Suspension Dynamics

Hot start relocated to the right side of bars

New graphics and seat cover

New rear tire

New chain and sprockets

WR tank petcock (for reserve)

Cycra hand guards

I can't wait to ride this thing!!

what's the story with the older swingarm? looks good..

The guy I bought it from swapped it from his friends 08.

Just got back from a 2 day riding trip. The bike handles awesome. It's not as heavy feeling as I expected at all. The suspension is like butter. It steers great and the power is awesome. With the Rekluse and LHRB it's a great woods bike.

The only issue I had with it was that it flamed out several times off of idle. I'm thinking it's a smidge lean and that's why it keeps flaming out? It has a 45 pilot jet in it. I had to use the cold start to get it started even when it's hot. I've got a Boysen Quick Shot on it also.

Maybe I'll try a bigger pilot jet.

That left hand rear brake mod sounds interesting, obviously goes perfectly with a rekulse clutch!

I have alot of trouble using my rear brake when it's needed the most.. sounds like something i might be interested in. However at the same time my clutch is incredibly important to me, for technical stuff the ability to slip it slightly or slip it quite a bit needs to be available.

yeah, i was wondering about the swingarm to..

as long as your positive its an 09'

Yeah, I ran the VIN to make sure. The bike ended up being a great deal after the seller settled up with me on the swing arm thing. Here's the story behind it: Click

After putting the Rekluse in (on a previous bike) I found my self never touching the clutch lever, the Rekluse works so good in every situation I have never felt I needed to override it. If you put a Rekluse in yourself try it out and see if you think you really need the clutch lever there. The LHRB takes some getting used to. It's so nice being able to brake slide into right turns and to be able to go down steep technical hill climbs and be able to dab my right foot and still control the rear brake.

I'm so used to having the Rekluse and LHRB set up I have to have it now, I'm spoiled. I get on a bike without it and it seems foreign to me.
