awesome.  Now if I could only find and H4 plug at the parts store, so far no luck, and local battery store doesn't carry anything less than 3ah

Excellent write up!! Thanks!! I got my 2004 XR250R about 2 months ago and I've been debating on how to dual sport. You've saved me a ton of time in research!!

If anyone is interested in piecing together a kit and don't want all the items. Here is the kit exploded out with part numbers.

-   Tusk Left Hand Dual Sport Mirror 1263310001
-   Tusk Universal On/Off Switch 1274920001
-   Tusk LED Tail Light/Brake Light    1274930001
-   Tusk Enduro Lighting Kit Replacement Wire Harness 1274940001
-   Tusk Compact Control Switch    1274950001
-   Tusk L.E.D. Flasher Relay 1274960001
-   Tusk Flush Mount LED Turn Signals 1274970001
-   Tusk Mini Stalk LED Turn Signals   1274980001
-   Tusk Universal Horn    1274990001
-   Tusk Hydraulic Brake Switch Brembo Brakes 1275580001
-   Tusk Enduro Lighting Kit Replacement Battery Pack 1284830001

If you want to tie your front brake into the system so it will turn the brake light on when you hit your front brake you will need another Tusk Hydraulic Brake Switch Part # 1275580001. The wire harness is made to accommodate for that.

Thank you for the great information and pictures. I am doing the same conversion to my 04 250r and could not figure out how to get the horn to work. Thanks again!

What a good article! I'm doing a conversion on my 86 XR600 and this will help me out. I ordered the Baja Designs  kit the day before I read this write up so I'll see how that kit goes.

I've got the Tusk kit, and I wanna run the Tusk brake/tail light off my factory AC system since it's already wired for a brake/tail lights. Coming into the factory light is a blue, green, and black wire. I figured the green wire to be the ground. Anybody know what the green and blue correspiond to (ie. Tail light or brake light)?

If I look back at my pics, I believe the green is the ground, blue is running light and the other one is the brake light. I'll post below my write up from a different forum.

Never mind posting it here, this forum doesn't like my format. Here is a link to the write up.
