Your thoughts and suggestions.

Hey guys,

So I just disassembled the top-end of my 98' 400. The plan is to check and adjust the valves if necessary. Was actually quite surprised at how clean the valves and piston were on the old chap.

Was just gonna ask you fellas or ladies for any advice, tricks, suggestions. Also about the gaskets. The stock ones are still intact, would you suggest replacing?

Appreciate the help.

I would also plan to replace the cam chain while you have it apart, if it has any age on it.

I just did the piston/rings, Hot Cams, and timing chain on my 426 recently. I can see this as the type of job that will take much longer the first time than it will the second time since you are learning as you go along that first time. ?

These are very reliable bikes.
