I weigh 240 and need to get new springs and valving. To save money do I really need a re-valve on the shock or would just the correct spring work to get the correct sag. I do plan on getting the pro-curcuit link.

No you dont need a revalve the Yami susp is as good as it gets stock when set up. I would get 5.2 fork springs and lower the oil height maybe 10-15cc to make it a bit plusher feeling and either a 6.0 to 6.2 shock spring. Im 250 and run 5.4 fork springs and a 6.3 or 6.4 (forgot) shock spring. Ive had revalves on my bikes sins 1990 every year and have used all the big name suspension shops and smaller suspension shops but after springing the bike and adjusting the oil height it feels great. The SSS forks are pretty much the best stock forks ever made imo.
good luck

Correct the springs for your weight, and then correct the valving for your style, skill level, and the kind of riding you do. Most people find they are quite satisfied with the stock suspension after they springs are right, but it cab still be improved. In any case, do the springs first, and see how you like it.

Isn't the valving tuned to the spring, so changing the springs would throw performance way off regardless if they matched the riders weight?

It costs almost as much to change fork oil and springs and it does to do the whole revalve job & springs. esp if you live far away and pay big shipping fees.

Hey, why do they call it "shipping" if its still in the continent?
