TIRES!!??? I can't believe this...

NO ONE makes an AGGRESSIVE 17" rear dual sport tire. Unbe-****ing-leavable!

Dunlop, Michelin, Avon, Metzler, Bridgestone, Maxxis, Perelli.... I can't find one single manufacturer who makes a decent, agressive 17" dualsport tire.

It's looking like the only option is those shitty Trackmaster II's :thumbsup:

I have a 95 KLX650.... What are you guys using???

Lots of guys swap over to an 18 inch rim. There are a bunch of write ups about what and where to buy what you need over on KLR650.net.

However, the 17" will take you anywhere you want to go....

Entire Epic Ridge Series was shot from the seat of a stock '07 KLR650 with D606's.

Be advised though, they wear out quick on the street if that matters to you.

I am looking at them for my DRZ. I have found 4 that I like in particular...Shinko 244, IRC GP1, Kenda 270, continental tkc 80. I hope this helps. All are available in 17".

Pirelli M21 is good too, and yes the 606 is available in a 17". I've run 'em all & those 2 are the most off road oriented. The TKC has smaller knobs but is better on the street. The 606 on the front sucks IMO. MT21's = good. 'Course there are non-DOT fronts of all types...

I have used dunlop 606,pirelli mt21, metzler karoo, and maxxis m6006. All aggressive, all dot, and all 17'':bonk: None of them lasted more than 1800 miles! :lol:

Just put some shinko SR 244 jellies on my 07. Have put over 200 in the dirt and about 75 on the pavement outside of Ash Fork AZ. Real happy with preformance and the price. Both tires came in at $125 plus instal.

I'm loving the bridgestone TW301/302 I put on this spring.

They're dual compound, and they seem to be wearing phenomenally. I use my KLR for work (lots of tilled fields, crossing canals, climbing embankments etc...) and it's not on par with the trackmaster, but waaayyy ahead of the kenda 270. It's fairly quiet on the road, the profile is also quite a bit nicer in corners, though the rear is a tad small-looking for the big bike.
