Is there a decompression cam for the 400? picked up a craiglist bike and was hoping if anyone knew of one. Bill of sale only and was told it was a 98, find out it is a 99. I am sure there is many threads about what parts from other yamahas will fit but can someone compress the data for me?

The same cam that fits a 426 will fit a 400.

If you search the threads you will find two decompression cams are used, the '03 450 cam and one from hot cams.

Seems at present the hot cams option is cheaper than the OEM '03 450 option.

I have the '03 450 cam in my 400 (was fitted a few years ago), works just fine.
