I went into my local motorsport store (Bert's mega mall) today and found something funny, a 2009 yz450 is listed at $7399 and a 2011 yz450 is listed at $6999. Also a 2011 yz250f is $7150. I dont know what they are thinking, I just thought that was interesting!

That $6999 seems awful cheap for an '11. Shoot, the $7399 does as well. Don't try and make sense of it. Just buy it!

That's what you would call a "typo":smirk:
. . . unless Yamaha is offering big dealer discounts on 450's.

Gotta do your home work if you are shopping at Berts. They are a huge volume dealer so deals can be had but they play the freight and setup game.

I helped my nephew buy a KTM 450 SX there in 09. We agreed on a OTD price. When they brought the paperwork it said they sold the bike for like 4500 and 3000 in set up and fees. I think they did it this way so less money would go towards California's wonderful sales tax. Didn't matter to us as the price was still what was agreed upon.

Sounds like they have that '09 on the floor as a prop...to get unsuspecting know-nothings to think the 7k for a 2011 is a screamin deal.

...and of course, "list" price means zero.

$7k for an 11 is nothing to be ashamed of...

These prices are all before dealer fees and tax, last year I bought my 09 there for $5000 plus fees and tax, it ended up being about $6k otd. And just to prove how dumb the sales guys are when I asked why the 09 was more than the 2011 he replied, "because the white ones are rare."

Well, hell, we better run over there and give him his money then, hadn't we? :smirk:
