Found a nice zr500 with a black magic 711 invader in nice shape. Apparently the current owner had to much money and put a pile in this sleigh. I know black magic is out of business, so how tough is it to get parts for this motor? How is the durability? It also has M-10 suspension and new track with 1600 miles. I think i can score it for 2 grand. What do you all think?
Thanks,
Brian

sounds like his project sled.... more headaches than it's worth IMO.

Black Magic was THE performance specialist for CAT back in the day. their stuff ran pretty good but there will always be the issue of parts availability, cylinders can be re-niked, pistons were all custom made by Wiseco so that may be a place to look. One other place to check is to call RV Sportsin Theif River Falls, MN and see if they may know where to get parts if needed, and further info on the package itself.

I would stay clear of "mod sleds" like those. You can get a 03-04 F7 for 2500$ these days. Stock they are 140HP and you can hammer them! you'll spend more time frigging with that project sled then you will be riding it...
