Holy bonus batman

Recommended Posts

778 after tax, biggest monthly bonus ever. Really tempted to spend it all on my bike, if I can do it without upsetting my wife. So here's my proposed run down, what do you think? Pretty much in priority order

255 tuner

75 regina O-ring chain

279 mrd pipe

55 rear sprocket, renthal or something better, 51 tooth

60 dunlop mx51 front tire or maybe d952

20 front sprocket, renthal or supersprox, 13 tooth

(250 IMS 2.4 gal tank)

=744 without the tank.

So I can't get everything on my list. maybe get a cheap 60 dollar number plate tank instead would put me at 800. Some of the guys at work use their bonus as their spending money and have it put into a separate bank account, I wish I had done that now, cause most likely she wouldn't notice any of those things on my bike, but she will notice it post to our account lol.

Good luck. I'm guessing the wife will have "other" plans for that money!

Well I did promise her we would save up to buy her a four wheeler. But i was thinking more along the lines of around april. I used her four wheeler money to buy my bike because she was pregnant and couldn't ride, and wouldn't be for a while. But this isn't the point of the thread!

I don't think tech24 really means these are bad choices, he just wants the money, but really are these things worthwhile and necessary additions for me to get more enjoyment out of my bike? But at the same time her response to me asking if I can buy this will be, you want to spend how much money on your bike? as if the number is astronomical.

Looks pretty similar to my original list. I have most of it but I buy cheap steal sprockets cause im a cheap skate. Still want that MRD pip though. Looks like a good list to me. Good choice in chain too if your getting ORN6.

I want or got what you stated plus

rekluse z-start pro (its under the tree)

GYTR heavy flywheel (its B/O supposed to be under tree)

still need G2 throttle tube

rear mud tire

ice studs

Yeah getting the ORN6, I've had a regina oring chain on my last bike and never have to adjust it for years, last time I did was over 2 years ago, and it needs a very slight adjustment. I would love snow tires too, especially since there is a foot and a half of snow out right now, but that will have to wait.

I'll just say she can spend any christmas gift money on what she wants if I can spend my bonus money on bike stuff, and see how that goes, probably will end up with about 200 from gifts, which is about what a regular bonus would be or more. See if she'll agree before asking how much it is lol.

Its easier just to buy stuff and play dumb when it comes in the mail...

Tip of the day: Send all purchased dirt bike affiliated items to your work address !

Second tip of the day : Have a "secret" stash of cash called "man funds" for purchasing said dirt bike items ! :excuseme:

My wife doesn't even know I have a 2007 YZ450F, I just tell her it belongs to our neighbor, and I am working on it as a favor (for the past 3 years ) :busted:

I opened a separate account, and have a little $$$ allotment from my paycheck go directly to that account every month. She knows I have it, but doesn't know how much, or even has access to it. It builds up over time, allowing me to fix things as they come up. She also dosen't have a key for my shop. I didn't want it to be turned into a storage shed for all those boxes of old home decor and such that will never be used again.

Always keep a stash of cash on hand...when you go to your friendly local to pick up whatever, pay half in cash, half with check or credit card. what shows up to curious significant other eyes is only HALF of what you really spent...makes for much more civil dinner discussions....:excuseme:

Whatever you do, DO NOT buy the number plate gas tank. My buddy bought one of those, and it only took one mile into the ride for him to ride back to his truck and take it off. You really want to mount +/- 6 lbs to the highest point on your bike? Think of how much heavier the bars feel just adding wrap around handgaurds. Not to mention, the one he go rubbed his brake line to the point of needing to be replaced within that two mi of riding. The pic he looked at when ordering looked very trick and nice but when he got got it, the thing was quite bulky and lame.

As to the wife part, there are a lot of good ideas here, but what I usually end up doing with stuff like that is offer to split it with her. Sure it's your money, but I've found that when I blow a bunch of money like that she gets so pissed that even going out to put it on is a struggle, much less riding the bike.

Or spend the money, less the cost of: Pregnancy massage (or reg. massage if no longer pregnant), pedicure, manicure. Come home, hand her the olive branch, then go work on your bike.

I convinced her to let me spend my bonus on bike parts, although she has no idea how much it is. i did tell her she could spend our christmas gift money of 200 bucks on whatever she wanted as the compromise, but I could care less about that little bit.
