The people who whine about the 4 extra bolts are failing to look at how easy the thing is once the tank is up. Anyone who has even watched someone else change out the filter on a CRF450 will appreciate the kind of access you have to the thing.

It's a 1994 GMC 2500 short box extended cab.

It was red, but was painted a matt grey primer by the previous owner.

It's rear wheel drive with no posi traction

It has 3 missing hub caps

It has a cab window that is held in by a bungee cable that is hooked into the rear seat middle seat belt loop.

It has 330 000 KM's

It has a starter motor with a bad solonoid that sometimes doesn't trip

Engine runs good, chasis is tight and it gets around 17mpg which is good for a truck it's age.

Cost, 900$

Ya I need to find something like that, about all i will be able to spend after my purchase on friday. I should sell my street bike and buy something with less miles though.

6 bolts, not really a pain at all.

I leave the gas tank wire support wrapped around the subframe under the seat so no matter where the bike goes the tank can stand up suspended.

Consider the fact guys that the air filter doesn't get dirty near as quickly as one under the seat, the extra 4 bolts outweighs the benefit.

I found that my air filter gets about 6 hours before it starts to even look dirty, where as my old yz250 would go about 3 for the same amount of dirtyness.

+1 on this, I was getting apart the filter and thinking what the hell is this!!!!, but after I saw it, it was almost clean after 4 hours of use.?

Is not that complicated to get to it.

Is the air filter as much of a pain in the butt to change/clean as i have heard and read ?

Even if the air filter was hard to get to and fool with, The ease of getting to the valves to check them paid for it.

Not to mention my PJ1 cleaner and oil last about twice is long with the flat filter, I love it. Thats a lot of money saved since PJ1 cost so much.

+1 After dealing with trying to stuff a size 10 filter into a size 6 air box on my 08 Crf, I will gladly remove a couple of extra bolts to have easy access to the air box. I love the flat air filter, not sure why anyone would switch to an aftermarket over the cage design. I will admit that getting the tank bolts lined up when you are putting it back together can be a little tricky. Seems like you have to lift slightly on the lower shrouds and very lightly press down on the tank to get every thing to line up. It would be pretty easy to cross thread if you are impatient and force it.
