Forgive me if this doesn't work. I got a set of Tusk Racing footpegs today and am trying to show the difference between stock pegs and the Tusk pegs.

You did a very good comparison, the new Tusk pegs make the stockers look like shit, they proably perform as well as they look.

I'd say you got the job done. What do the tusk pegs cost?

I had better add that I had to do a little grinding on the left peg to get it to fit nicely. It was a little too wide to fit inside the mount. They are quite a bit lighter than the steel stockers, wider, and the stainless cleats really have some bite to them.

Those look really good. I had a set of IMS on my 97 cr250 that I really liked. But they were about $100. Now that I see these I think I will try them on my 09 crf250r.

Great comparison photos Dillier23.:smirk:

Are the cleats replaceable? Would they accidentaly fall out? Are they screwed in?

I got them from Ebay, around $70 bucks. The cleats are screwed in and replaceable. Not sure what tool it would take to change them though.

I have had a set all year and love them but for one thing....

After a season they WILL sag as the aluminum that is in contact with the peg bracket starts to mushroom. Other than that I love them but they are only good for one season. The peg body itself will wear out long before the SS teeth do.

My buddy just got a set and they look really nice and are very light... can't beat the price but I'm interested to see how long they last.

One season? That's lame. Go with IMS Pro Series footpegs - they last... forever! Just bust out the grinder after one season to make them razor sharp.

Yep.

IMS pro stainless pegs are my next peg purchase.

And I won't even say "a season" per say. I have 37 hours on mine per the meter and they are starting to sag.

37 hours is not very encouraging. Oh well, live and learn I suppose.

That sux as oftentimes the Tusk-branded stuff is "good enough" for an attractive price vs other more prominent brands.

Tusk should re-think their alloy as from my experience, they serve a certain market segment well. Bad product design will kill that quickly.

True but if you look past that they are indeed a fantastic peg. Nice and wide, lightweight, good fit, grippy as hell, and they shed mud extremely well. It's not just tusk, any aluminum peg will mushroom at the bracket contact area eventually.

Keep in mind I'm no lightweight either, at 230#'s geared up I'm sure I put more "stress" on them than a 160 pounder.

If you're at all handy at welding aluminum or have a friend that is, you could always build up the contact area on the peg to bring them up a bit. If you add too much weld you can grind them down to where you need them to be. Fixed!
