25,000 miles = 40,233.6 Km so although seemingly high 60,000 Km isn't so crazy and being that there's been some time in between the warriors and the newest Nitros like Brad's 08 it very well may be the recommended valve adjustment cycle I don't know for sure.

it says it right in the owners manual .

In bold are comments that require attention.  60000 km before a first valve check.  Thats about 37000 miles.  This is like someone with a 450 bragging about a first valve check at 300 hours.  Not saying its impossible it just sounds dumb.  Its an 11000 dollar snowmobile.  And then saying a 2t wouldn't even be on the same block lol.  An exaggeration clearly.

I have lots of buddies up in Utah who eat breath and sleep snowmobiles.  They run ski doos, Polaris's, yamaha's etc and I always ask them what they think about 4t vs 2t and while they like their Yamahas they almost all prefer the 2t's and get an amazing amount of time on them, especially the ski doos.

most of the "opinions" given are a joke. Try a real snowmobile forum where owners of the different brands can give a better answer to the OP's question.

yes im sure you ride tonnes in arizona were your very familiar with new snowmobiles , i dont live in the snowmobile capitol of the world or anything . Your also comparing a dirt bike to a sled were you should be comparing it to a street bike .

I ride a little and talk with lots of avid snowmobilers so I will give you what knowledge or advice I have heard, and this is all opinion!

I talked to my Yamaha mechanic and he hates working on the new 4-stroke Yamaha sleds, says they are a PITA do check/adjust the valves. Since I have not done valves I cant say.

I have worked on REV's and XP's and ridden them as well as some Polaris's, and Cat's. I have only ridden 2-stroke sleds and I enjoy them, I have a 440 cat myself and am looking for an M7 or M8, rode my buddies M7 and dang! Want one now!

Personally I would try to find the cleanest lowest mileage sled that fits what you need/want. Really cant go wrong with any of the 4 just figure out the weak points in each and look for those problems when looking at the sleds.

Have fun searching and rip up some snow!

you basically never have to check or adjust the valves . i was wrong on 60,000 kms its only 40,000 kms for first valve check . i have never seen a sled with that many kilometers .

between 2 and 4 its really preference of what u like if u want low maintenance don't get an old sled go new depending how deep the snow is i would go with an arctic cat m 1000 2 stroke its a mountain sled the 1000cc will be tones of power and with the mountain cat you can get longer tracks and real tall lugs with long track and big lugs u should be able to cross a lake just keep it pined also 4 strokes are heaver so be careful of that
i like 2's so thats what i would go with
1000 cc will get u alot of power and build the engine and u should have all u need
longer track bigger lugs = less chance of getting stuck

Good to hear.  I lived up in Vancouver this last winter and spent some time up in Whistler.  It was sad.  Guess just a bad year.  The snow was good last winter, one storm up north dumped 90 inches within a few days.  Still waiting on the first snow storm of the year.

just don't piss off ol nancy green shes a bit of a hag ........ unfortunately she owns half the mountain or some crap .

the coast seemed to get terrible snow , its just because we had the Olympics that it didn't snow .

snow was down compared to other years but once you were up in the alpine it didn't matter much , we just noticed you could go inside cabins instead of tunnel down to them .

And now her hubby is the mayor of sunpeaks as well.
They became a town with a mayor and council recently, and i think they are already going downhill. ( bad pun i know)
From what i hear its a power struggle, and lots of fighting, and they now want to ban all rentals, which so many tourists loved staying at. Since nancy greene and hubby own so many hotels and stuff up there, i am amazed they allowed him to be mayor. They plan to boost their own hotel business, at the expense of others, by stopping people from having any rentals in homes as has been traditionally done there.
Its sad to see it going is way.

As for the question posed by the OP, i would go with a 2 stroke, many advantages IMHO as a sledder. I have onwed both, and ride with others on both 2t and 4t and general consensus is that they favour the 2t.
