Blew up my motor on my 06 YZ450 today. Running through the bad is not going real well with my wife right now. But good news is that I found a 09 motor (complete) and wondering if that motor will bolt into my frame. Any body dealt with this yet? Thanks for any help

The '09 engine should fit.

What happened? How many hours on the thing?

What happened was climbing long loose hill, motor coughed and stopped. Upon inspection on tear down found that timing to be on, cams to be fine, crank in good condition. Removal of head found that left rear intake valve dropped. Hitting piston and bending it. Shiny mark on piston where valve hit is seen. Cracked valve guide. Retainers still at top of valve spring.
Dont let this hinder anybody about buying a thumper.
I bought this bike in August of 2006. It lasted to the day 4 years. Its been ridden hard, serviced on a schedule. Anybody who has ridden with me knows I abuse my bikes.
I would buy another thumper in a heartbeat, if I could afford it. But I will replace all the valves, guides, springs, piston, rings, etc...... and try to ride it for another 4 years. It beats spending a whole bunch for a new one. Times are tough right now and this bike is a keeper. Thanks for all the replies and the help.
