Will 03 wr450 ignition system work with 05 motor?

I have a 03 wr450 and wanted to know if a 05 motor will work? IS there any difference in the 2 electrical systems?(stator,cdi,coil,rectifier reg., etc.)

It works??? That's odd. I tried to install the voltage regulator from an 03 onto my 05 and the connections where different. I would have had to use the 03' stator as well.

I ended up going with a TrailTech setup which is a better choice.
