09 YZ450F A little mild for my liking

Recommended Posts

Took mine out riding this past weekend with the Q4 installed. I don't believe I have to re-jet since it was running fine. The bike ran fine with plenty low end. Unfortunately I'm riding at 7,500' instead of 1,500' so right now it feels underpowered to me anyways. The other down side is I put one hell of a dent in the head pipe just in front of the guard when I tried to run over a pine tree. It won, I lost. Now it seems to have even more low end. :ride:

i found one on ebay thats off of a 06 yz250. it says it will fit on a 450. is that true? will this work on my 09 yz450 with the same results as one off of an 06 yz450?

It might fit, but I wouldn't spend any money on it. The timing curve built into that CDI is for a two-stroke, and who knows how that would work on a four stroke? Pass on it.

Throw an '06 CDI on it and you'll think there was a third option.

Im going to have to try this! I just got a very good deal on an 08 450. The guy already put a yosh pipe on it so im not to sure on how the stocker was but I heard it was horrid for mx . The guy also had Eleven 10 mods do carb work and I tell you what, it is just as snappy as the 09 crf450 I rode! How much do the 06 cdi's go for usually?
