I agree... I dont think thread locker is necessary! Doesnt seem to be anything to pull or vibrate them loose.

Just wanted to say thanks for this thread.

Got my 06 plate installed tonight on the 04 yz125. I went the zip tie route on bottom and it is absolutley secure. Zero movement. So I decided to leave it. The top I used a brass tube I bought at Ace Hardware for .50 cents, and 2 washers and it's perfect. It's about 17mm total I think.

Thanks again TT!!!

The tab is to keep your front brake line fron getting caught behind the front numberplate after you land off a jump..... If it gets caught behind there on the upper bolt mount the line will get pulled tight and might rupture...

The brake line getting caught behind the numberplate can also prevent your forks from returning to full travel and/or rip the numberplate off.

Next "to do" job on my 06. It is so easy to put new fender on bike. I will just put 2010 fender, not 2010 plate, becouse old style 06-09 is much nicer

No, the 2008 & up right fork leg attachment locations are different than the '05-'07's.

A little research through parts lists...
http://www.cyclepart...ect.asp?srt=mfg

...or aftermarket suppliers applications
http://shop.thumpert...t.asp?p=322&s=2

...will show...

...that the North American-market YZ125/250 side panels are the same from 2002 through 2010.

So to go along with a newer front number plate - will a newer year (2008) front fender fit a 2005 YZ 250?

Posted Image2004 YZ 125 with new 2012 YZ250F front number plate and fender along with a new white rear UFO fender, gave the YZ a face lift. The transplant was easy !Posted Image
