Yes and no. The cylinder will fit, but in order to use the 426 piston, you have to use a 426 crank, or fit a 426 rod to yours; the wrist pin is larger.

Yes, but you have to cap off the hot start nipple in the intake tract. Other than that, the bare heads are the same. 400 has SS valves instead of Ti, so they are a bit more durable (though the 426 Ti valves are pretty darn durable...)
