I have a 2002 yz 426 that needs a new frame and I found a 1999 yz400 frame for cheap that I want to try and use. Has anyone tried to do this? I know that they have different sub frames with may be tricky. I have asked around and help the people I spoke with say it wont work and the other have say it will work. Any input helps, thanks.

You may have a problem with the swing arm pivot, but you may be able to correct it by replacing the two steel inserts at the rear of the crankcase, or having custom inserts built. As I remember, the '02 pivot was larger.
