weep or not to weep

Over the winter i noticed coolant pooling in the bottom of my skid plate but since the temps warmed up there hasn't been any coolant coming from the weep hole. The only time i noticed cool weeping was temps below 0 degrees Fahrenheitant. What do you think i should do, go ahead and change the seals or leave them tell i notice it weeping again?

Good to see a fellow newf on here. My 08 does it from time to time. I bought a new bearing and seals but have not installed it yet. Had it sitting there for over a year now. Ifind it only drips a tiny bit if i kick her over a lot if shes been sitting a while ( my battery is shot). but its so tiny and my coolant level has hardly went down.

The sub-zero temps might have had something to do with it, the rubber seal might have been too stiff to keep the coolant from passing through. Ride it again and see if it keeps on dripping, if it does then go ahead and change the seals, they're quite easy to change.

My 07 did the same thing this winter right after I bought it and started storing it in my cold garage. I was putting a rekluse clutch in anyway, so I changed the seals and bearing while it was apart. I did not change the pump shaft, as there was no groove worn in it. Good peace of mind ? for $25 worth of parts.

I would not try to reuse the bearing, as all of the force pushes on the middle of the bearing as you try to get it out. If you peen the races, it could put a lot of trash in the engine.

Cold weather will often make seals shrink and leak. See what happens when it warms up.

If your bike has lots of miles it probably needs replacing, mine did at about 6000km's. But if it's low mileage it's probably the cold.

Well There is about 3000kms on the bike and hasn't leaked a bit of coolant at all keep checking my rad and overflow before every ride there hasn't been any missing. I think I'm going to hold off till i see the problem arise again.
