Something I'm not sure about is the D.thrt and nthrt. On the restackor website he gives a crf450 example and says those aren't needed but on the comp side there is clearly a restriction and a smaller one on the reb side.

The valve port dimensions used to compute the port flow area at the shim stack face are illustrated on this crf450  shock valve photo frezno posted. frezno posted the photo to show installation of the valve slider bushing.

Port “throat” area:
The minimum flow area in the valve port “throat” for this crf450 valve depends on how wide the lip is in the valve port.

To get the throat area/diameter “d.thrt” the question is: what is the width of the “Lip” inside the valve port?

chrismxer: The 1.6 mm w.seat width in your table, is that the width of the shim stack seat or does it also include the lip?

The 1.6 is just what it is, the width of the seat that the shims contact on the outside face of the valve. The lip width along the d-port is 1.5 and about .8 along the outer edge next to the w-port measurement. This is the reb side the comp side is much different.

crf450 shock valve dimensions:

Valve seat lip thickness is around 1.6 mm but the face shims only overlap 0.5mm so w.seat was set at 0.5mm.

The valve ports are pretty wide open. The flow restriction of the lip inside the valve port doesn't kick in until shaft velocities above 150 in/sec.

Considering the shock linkage ratio that is a pretty high suspension velocity. So the valve of d.thrt isn't to important for performance. Anyway we have it measured now.

Anybody have anything for the clicker needle geometry?

I see something like a new,updated version of the one I already have..for example a leak is added....Can I update my version or I have to buy it again?

Can I ask how you quickly compare the different set ups...

Are you plotting two on one chart off saved data from each?

Also - would it be easy to upload onto your site various piston dimensions that you have acquired thus far - I think that would be useful...you could even include it into a look up table, could you not?

Just some tips/ideas for improvement.

Just download the latest version and replace you existing files. You need to replace the spreadsheets with the new version too.

Copy/paste results into a new spreadsheet tab and add the curves to the plot. It is a PIA.

In case somebody needs the new version of Restackor, here is the way to upgrade your existing version (paid one):
You don't have to buy a new copy. To run the latest version of ReStackor:

Delete your existing C:\ReStackor folder.
Download the latest copy of the ReStackor demo from the web site.
Unzip the demo and copy the  ReStackor folder to C:\ReStackor.
The demo will pickup your existing license and run.

Obviously if you have any files in your C:\ReStackor directory that you want to save you should copy those to some other directory before you delete it .

This is not a secret and it is fully legal way to update your version!
