Hey im new on thumpertalk and curious to know what you think the best and most reliable yz450f. I ride a 2007 yz250f and im looking to step up to a 450.

They are all reliable if they are maintained correctly

Best all around power of all of them...the 2006 is the best. The 07,08,09 are all slow compared to the 06 but handle marginally better

the 07-09s are not "slow" compared to an o6 when you put an aftermarket exhaust on them.

I thought the 07 was the same as the 06 they put the lame muffler on the 08
witch is the bike i have i think it has plenty of power and it has probably 60hours on it and not a problem yet

they adjusted the low end hit on the 07 to be "softer" and to create more tractable power.

I would say the best deal would be on a slightly used 2009.
It's the newest and with the 2010 coming out you can probably swoop one up below 4500.00.

If you are going total budget i have seen really clean 07's and 08's going around 3000 - 3500.00 with lots of nice mods on them.
