Sasquatch hair? 100 grit sandpaper? Don't listen to this guy. He has no idea how to paint plastic.

Here's what you really do: First, don't use sandpaper. Doesn't rough the surface up enough. Use an angle grinder, the bigger the better. If your dad has a big 7" grinder, you're in business. Rough all your plastic up with that. Then, use the same technology Boeing does to paint their parts, it's similar to the powdercoating process. Cut open an extension cord (110 volts is good, 220 better), connect the white wire to the plastic on your bike, green wire to a large sheet of metal placed under your bike (to ground you out), connect the black wire to the metal paint can. Now, without wearing gloves or shoes, grab the paint can and just slosh the paint onto your bike. The electrical charge will attract the paint to just the plastic, and your bike will be blue.

i would never roll on paint on anything automotive. it is going to look horrible

Actually, I know a dude that used a roller to paint a car once. Wet sanded the heck out of it between coats, came out well enough that you would have no idea. Blew me away. Thought it would look like crap. Way more work than it would have been to spray it. Not saying the dude was smart.

If you hadn't caught on, the dude's a troll. I was trying to suggest something entirely implausable, designed by my own working knowledge of things, that would get someone hurt and make a stupid mess of their bike and shop if they were actually dumb enough to try it. Of course plastic doesn't conduct electricity as well as metal. And of course hanging onto a metal can barehanded while standing barefooted on sheetmetal that is strongly grounded will shock the fillings out of you. Christ, I tried to be so ridiculous that nobody would take me seriously. Guess I failed.

By the way, the technology behind the SAMES guns is pretty cool. Glad you're in here to back up my retarded suggestions with real knowledge.
