yz450f 2009 sprocket interchangeability with honda suzuki or kawasaki

Does any sprocket from suzuki or honda fit on a yz450f 2009 because we dont have any other choice here

The front is the same as a kx250f/kx450f according to my ironman sprocket label.

How do you not have a choice? Do the United States Postal Service or UPS deliver to you?

Sprockets are one thing that I don't understand why the bike manufacturers haven't standardized. There is no reason that they shouldn't all be the same. Back in 99, I believe, when Yamaha re-designed their hub would have been a perfect opportunity to adopt Honda's inner diameter and bolt circle.:ride: But hell no, it's dang close but so far away! It's not like this is a performance part. If you took all the brands' sprockets and laid them on top of each other, you'd see that there is just enough difference to piss you off that they don't fit each other.

As you look at some parts that ARE sometimes interchangeable between brands - Tires, spokes, spark plugs, pistons, rings, rods, bearings, seals, clutch plates, levers, brake parts, throttles, suspension parts, chains and front sprockets but NEVER rear sprockets. :thumbsup:

Sorry, this doesn't help the OP but I just had to vent! If a guy has access to shop eqipment it is possible to make sprockets fit.....

Knowing Honda, they have a patent on sprockets with a mounting circle that size. :thumbsup:

kawas will bolt to a YZ hub. BUT the center (big hole) is just 2mm larger than Yamahas. Dont do it. Sprocket need that lip to help support it. Friend did it and learned a lesson!

yz250 and rm250 come to mind.Especially since the rm250 motor is basically a yz250 copy.

You are right! I think we will see this one day. Look at every industry. At one piont, chevy, ford, honda, yamaha, every one made their own stuff. Now, with the modern manufacturing era and the ability to outsource things to japan, china, etc and make it efficient we have digressed to components. For example, navistar makes ford diesels, Kayaba makes forks for Yamaha, and energizer and duracell are made in the same factory! Likewise, wheels themselves used to be honda, yam, kaw, etc. now, excel or DID makes the rims....all it will take is for these manufactureres to be "acquired" by a profiteering mogul and streamline the mfg process by removing the various "models" or different size hub options and badabing, standard size hubs...
