First Sled

Looking for my first sled.  I would like to buy a Polaris 500-700.  Just looking for something to buzz around on and take my kids for rides.  I can get to trails right from my house.

Seems like there are a lot of mid 90's Indy sleds out there for $900 - $1300.  That would be right in my price range right now.  Bad idea?  Any advice?
