I have a 99 Polaris XC 500. I have read online that you can go 3" on factory cables. I have talked to my Polaris dealer and they said 2". I am just wondering if any of you have put one on and how high you can go

I went 3 inch riser block on my 02 XC500, then when I sold the sled I gave the riser to a guy running a 2000 Super Sport. Cables were tight but it worked for both of us. But they make throttle and brake cable extenstions so if you need to you could go that route. But I would not get a riser block again. Puts the handle bar too far back. Pivot risers are much better.

My cousin has the pivot risers and he is always pushing them back up while riding. Are they just that bad or does he not have them tight enough?

Maybe he dosn't have them tight enough, but could also be a poor design. Pretty much all sleds come from factory now with some style of adjustable riser. Mine have never moved.

Well I was thinking about getting angled risers. Thoughts?

i would deff. get angled ones if you just get block ones it moves the bars back and up instead of just strait up.  I just welded up my own riser which is a good option if you have the tools.

I just used 1 1/2" square tubing and some flat stuff for the top and bottom.  didnt go tall enough at first and added some small blocks to the top of that.:ride:  no problems after two years of beating the crap out of it:ride:
