GREAT NEWS!!!!!!!

After some detective work, It appears I found the TT230 famous #130 Main:
http://shop.thumpert...=PU_KN102221130

And the famous TTR230 #38 Pilot Jet
https://shop.thumper...14342%2D19%2D00
- Now this is only available through OEM right now from what I can tell and yes, that price is accurate.

I ordered the 130 main jet noted above and it does not fit due to thread pitch, style or design for the 2005 ttr-230. Beware. The Pilot jet is right on the money though.

I have had two ttr125s an 02 and an 03. Both were hard starting. I found that I could adjust the idle mixture and take away the cold blooded nature to them.

Here is the needle jet location, I'm pointing to it with a white pencil.

I used a flat tip hex tool to adjust it for the highest idle speed.

My 07 ttr50 is running lean from the factory:banghead: and will not idle properly. I ride my bike at 3800-4300 ft above sea level in the (Mojave Desert) Southern California. What main and pilot jet will work for me?

My bike is still running very lean after adjusting the fuel mixture screw. My next move is new jets. Will the jets on the 230's fit the 225? If not, does anyone know what size jets to buy for the 225?

Thanks.

Can someone please help me out? On my TTR125 I have switched to a #20 pilot jet. She starts without choke, but has a weak idle. If I turn in the idle screw I can get it to rev up but, it is basically all the way in. Can some tell me where they have their pilot screw set to on a #20 and how many turns out their idle screw is? I think I may have something else going on. Can too much free play in the throttle cause a week idle? Or is the idle screw supposed to be in that much. If I rest my handle on the throttle it seems about right.

Thanks

I have the 230. I put a new Big Gun tail pipe and left the stock header on. I went with a 38 pilot jet and a 130 Main. I also took out the snorkle and (this is important) drilled holes in the air box rather than remove it. Also put in a Uni air filter. Big big improvement in both performance and sound. I'm in PA, and the only problem i have is that when the temp. drops below, say 55-58 degrees, it runs too lean. it backfires, exhaust sparks, and actually left me stranded after a single very loud backfire. What I found is that when the temp drops, cover up some of the air box holes with duct tape to make it run richer. Has anyone else run into this? I just got the swidewinder 15 tooth countersprocket and looking forward to installing that for the spring. I'm also interested in any ideas on suspension mods. The articles on this site talk about the works rears shock but that thing costs at least $500. any alternatives?

Which Mikuni pilot jets do you use in a TTR90? N224.103 or VM28/486? They look alike but they have slightly different measurements. Mine are coming out looking like they are twisted at the holes in the sides. Is that normal? I am trying to order from jetsrus or should I just order factory ones from Yamaha? I want a 15 pilot. Thanks.

Contacted jetsrus and they said they have the ttr90 listed as the VM20/486. They said the twisting is probably from using the N224.103 which has a larger nozzle. I ordered a 12.5 and 15 from them. They said the bike will run better with the correct jet. I hope it helps.

Will these fit in most carburetors? I have a 2001/2 TTR 225 and i would like a little better response and power. If i put these jets in will i have to do the air box mod? and will they work well with an fmf power core 4 exhaust?

I've read all these posts, the thumpertalk store links for the #38 pilot jet and 130 main jet for the TTR230 do not work. The Yamaha part numbers are no good according to the local dealer. Where can i really get these jets? Any help is welcome. Thanks
