Has anybody attempted a dual-sport conversion in the state of North Carolina?

I'm attempting one now! wish me luck! (that is- I've already attempted/succeeded in the conversion, now just attempting the paperwork!)

I'm in NC and "sold" my XR650R to a friend that lived in SC. He registered/ tagged it and then sold it back. I then took the sales agreement and registration paperwork to the DMV who transferred it and gave me the tag.
