2004 yz450fs backpopping,poor idle

just got an 04 450, has low hours,it is backpopping when i let of the throttle,also seems to be running hot,and idles very poorly, i havent dug into anything yet.(specific) help to point me in the right direction would be greatly appreciated.:moon:

clean the carb, the pilot jet more specifically. That will clear it up.

Make sure the hot start plunger hasn't corroded and is NOT stuck in the "open" position...oil it and the cable up well, water runs down the cable from washing, and corrodes the aluminum carb body....

will do thanks a bunch,yup you were right the pilot jet was completely clogged up,bike runs and idles like it should thanks again
