does a yz cdi run a wr 400?

hi, can anyone help me? im in the process of converting my wr 400 to yz timing, i have changed the cam timing and was wondering weather the yz cdi will work on the wr? or is there anything else i need to buy as well as the cdi can anyone help! i dont want to buy a cdi which does not work on my bike as the are quite expensive!..

Is there a reason that your WR CDI needs to be replaced?

no but i have heard that they are different in engine response, eg more in mid range and make acceleration more snappy is this true or is this just talk?

The WR CDI can be converted to YZ ignition mapping by performing the "grey wire mod". Look in the performance index in the WR400 forum.
