both are piped up. what im more looking for is the overall lightness, handling, power, and what performs better overall in the deep powder and trails, i hear that polaris's are crank blowers and i personally dont like polaris but this polaris looks way nicer then the summit even being the same year and all. ive owned many sleds now, and i do alot of mountain climbing in northern b.c ,and im 140lbs and 16yrs old, so i need your thoughts, outta these 2 sleds what one should i buy?

The 03 VE800s aren't bad as long as you don't mod the motor. The liberty engines are tough to beat stock.
Can't really give you a comparison between the two as I have zero experience with the 'doos.

I'm assuming equal price on each right????
The Polaris will out perform the doo head to head the ZX chassis is a tad heavier and those early 800 doo motors were a little light on power, but yes there were some problems with the cranks on the polaris.
That said, How many miles are on each and how well were they taken care of? Has the Polaris had any work done to the crank already? and if so by whom? There are ways to make that crank hold up, the biggest of which is properly balancing the clutch and maintaining it, alignment makes a big difference as well. Torque stops and a crank case reinforcement plate will help too. Best hands down is an Indy Specialties Torquemaster crank but not cheap.

You can mod that Poo motor. Carl's cycle know their Poo motors, especially those.
Look around, you should be able to find an updated sled for just a hair more in the cost dept. Both handle about the same in my experience as the chassis and suspension aren't to far off from each other. For example, trailing arms.
Either sled is a decent starter sled, IMO.

Their pretty close by today's standard. The polaris chassis worke better in real deep snow because of the tunnel design. The doo's were a little easier to throw around boon docking. Whichever one has the longer track will climb better.

I can second that you'll love the 03. I love my 04 VE but it's a 700 with the 151". Bars jacked to the sky though (I'm tall).

How many miles later did you tow her back in with a crank in twin pieces?
