Dr. Mark,
I don't have a new x-ray to post, so i know in some ways i'm asking for the blind man to describe the elephant, but i just want your general thoughts.
In March in broke the left ulna and radius about 1/3 to 1/2 back from wrist. I had 2 plates put in, 7 screws in each plate. 2 weeks ago i had the Ulna plate removed. I know the 7 holes left in the bone create a stress riser, and i am taking this winter off from riding to let them fill in with calcium.
My question is weight lifting. I know weight lifting is a slower, controlled motion (versus falling on it or mis-timing a jump section).
What is your normal advice for patients regarding the gym/working out after hardware removal (specifically 7 screw holes in the ulna) ???
Thanks for your info :ride:
Jeff
Hey...quick edit to add Dr. Mark to title. I know the answer is "what your dr. tells you you can do", so i am not asking for adive from Dr. Mark, maybe just information on what you recomend to your patients after removal of ulna plate and the remaining 7 screw holes.
Thanks so much :ride:
