I know that you all aren't doctors but i need some rehab advice.

3 weeks ago I came off my mate's 125 (I ride a 450) and I’m buggered if I know what happened. I had just jump an uphill ski ramp went another 15 meters leading into a left hander and bang dust, arms and legs and I can't breathe anymore (talk about freighting). I spent a week in the hospital to get my lungs (left lung) working again and 3 weeks after the off I’m feeling as if I could ride again but I’m sure that wouldn't be a good idea.

The official report is comminuted fracture mid Clavicle, nondisplaced fracture of inferior Scapular and Ribs 4, 5, 6, 7 and 8 are broken to different degrees some, displaced some undisplaced (5 and 6 are multiple breaks).

The thing is I'm not in that much pain (no it's not the drugs) I have trouble lifting any weight above horizontal with my left hand but other than that I’m going back to work next week. My dilemma is that my doc told my 6 to 8 MONTHS. I told him crap, what physio can I do? He told me none until 6 weeks. Surely movement and strength work is good for mashed muscles and surely the bones have started to knit by now.

I don't won’t to be out for 6 to 8 months. I’m looking for advice on what you guys may have done to get the rehab wheels turning a little quicker. I respect that I have massive injuries but if I feel good surely I should be doing something.

Any advice will be appreciated,

Cheers Dr,
I returned to work today (tomorrow will be exactly 4 weeks) and even though I'm exhausted its been a massive confidence boost and I'm feeling much more confident that there is no way it will take 6 to 8 months.
