Here's a big :thumbsdn: for Rocky Mountain!

I was putting together an order on TT and thought I'd check RMs prices:bonk:

I have checked with them several times on the FMF Q Stealth and they don't have it. So, I thought I'd email them. Below is my email to them and their response:

Not sure why you're not carrying this product yet?

It's been available for at least 16 months elsewhere.

I was going to spend $500 with you to get the $100 off on the next order but found you STILL don't carry the FMF Q Stealth. No, this is not the Turbine Core 2 Q or The Q that FMF still sells. It's a newer product from them that has the appearance of a 4 stroke slip on. This is for a YZ250 two stroke. It seems to be a popular modification for woods and off road riders.

I will buy from ThumperTalk because they have it in stock and actually promoted it long before you.

Thanks,

XXXX

Dear XXXXX,

Thank you for your email. I apologize for any inconvenience we have caused you. At this time, we are focusing more on the 4 stroke industry, and this is why we have not added this pipe to our product line. Please let us know if you have any other questions.

Have a great day!

The TT store has great prices on the FMF Gnarly and FMF Q Stealth. 184 for the pipe and 144 for the silencer and then of course the holiday cash off. RMATV used to have holiday cash off but now they're giving you money off your next order. Glad I can buy from other sources.

I'm not upset because he said what he said...but mainly HOW he said it. He could've also mentioned that if he didn't have the product you were looking for, he offers blah blah blah...
oh well...at least you found an alternative

It's a business, they focus on what makes the most profit. Over the past couple of years, they have dropped a lot of equipment and entire brands. Not sure, but I think they don't carry Pirelli tires anymore.
As you said, the TT store is hooking you up, a win / win situation.

I know. It's just a rant. They don't sell Kenda Carlsbad tires anymore either. Stuff comes and goes and I find what I need elsewhere. Was just saying that they threw in the towel on specialized two stroke parts sales. Whatever. I can find it elsewhere.

i just recently got a yz 125, and last night i ordered 290 dollars worth of parts (mainly controls) for it. ALL from TT store. you guys are the cheapest, and have the most parts. i was checking rmatv and motosport and those 2 only had half the stuff i was looking for, TT had all of it AND they are cheaper.

That is lame that they don't carry it! You figure they carry all kinds of crap, and that would be something that they'd have. If only to have something else to put the competition out of business, which they seem to be trying to do.

I'm pretty sure that this tire has been discontinued. I just missed out by an hour on a closeout deal of $18/tire 10 tire minimum on those.

Unfortunately that's the way things are going. I do at least 3 to 4 times more work on 4 strokes than on smokers and the few smokers I do see are mini's for the most part.

Does that mean that two strokes need less work or need less dedicated professional mechanics to keep them going? :p

Ha ha. I'm not in denial. Really.

You are very lucky thumpertalk had it. Two stroke pipes and silencers are far and few between.

business is business. TT store does have some pretty sweet prices. I remain faithful and go to my local dealers. They give me prices on 95% of the parts that I buy that cannot be beaten by online retailers. Get to know your local dealers and for the most part they do seem to acknowledge your patronage.

As far as RMATV, I have to say their customer service has been nothing but good to me. I usually order a bunch of their closeout gear. Ended up ordering the wrong size this year and had it exchanged no questions asked and they paid for shipping both ways.

So they don't have it? Go some place else and don't cry about it. I don't get what the problem is... If Publix doesn't have your favorite brand of tampons do you go up to the manager and complain about it too?

I bought an FMF Gnarly pipe for my YZ250 from TT, and I buy HUNDREDS of dollars of stuff from Rocky Mountain every year. If they don't have what I want, I don't get mad; I just get it elsewhere. If you don't find the brand of sander you want at Home Depot, just go to Lowe's and get it....no biggie!

We can ship to PO boxes. Most of our international orders ship USPS, so no UPS/FedEx brokerage fees.

Was trying to point out that they're making a business decision not to take on new inventory of two stroke parts that emerge into the marketplace.

Believe me, this ain't no biggie. I can buy it from plenty of other places. Just found it odd that they don't support new products that enter the marketplace despite customer demand. I've bought plenty of stuff from them before too and had great experiences but just found this to be unusual for them. :blah:

Stocking expensive parts with low demand is a good way to go broke.
