Ok, I don't know if you people saw the new ads on TT about the "grip-lock"
http://www.grip-lock.com/Gallery/

But my opinion is that it looks like a stupid concept.
On the website they show videos of how "safe" the grip-lock is and that it takes 1minute with an angle grinder to cut it open. And they can't get it open with a metal saw screwdriver etc...
But if you look at the product.. any thief would not waste his time cutting the "grip-lock... they will just take 2 seconds and CUT THE DAM LEVER OFF!

How can the makers even think that the thief's are gonna cut through the safe.. they are just gonna cut the lever!
80$ for a POS!
Also some brake levers have an adjustable screw.. so don't even need to cut the lever.. just unscrew the screw back...

You and I are smart enough to know that, but some of these thiefs aren't too bright. Besides, the add helps keep TT's doors open.

P.S. You could also open the brake bleeder and relieve the pressure.

Same with a disc lock. If someone wants your bike they'll get it. Easiest way to lift a bike with either a disc lock or a grip lock is by putting a short length of tube (scaffold tube) through the front wheel, one person each side, lift and walk....bye bye bike. Seen it done round here before I was into bikes - two scallies walking a KX along the road, and it didn't even dawn on me what they were up to. I just thought it was a broken down or out of fuel bike!

Only half secure way to secure a bike is with a BFO chain through the wheels and the frame then around a solid object....
