get the kold kutter studs. you can get a good set of tires and studded for about 400 a set. I been racing for 23 years. I do studded and rubber solo and rubber hack. love it. ama actually has a season set up for us guys that like it sideways in the cold. I am 5th in the nation, chasing that number one plate. I will get it. Alot of the flat tracker pro guys ride in the winter in the kold kutter class. 100 mph on ice, it is crazy.
Anyways, steer with the rear and dont be afraid to dial it on.

ok so heres the plan:

Dunlop 490 up front
Kenda ice master out back

250pk Kold Kutter 1" for the back
- - - 5/8" for the front

cut up old sm tire for the back liner

some type of glue for the studs- looking at lock tite (one of their formulas seems to work for making ice tires lol)

questions..

- how many studs do i need? 250 per wheel??
-Drill pilot holes before putting the studs in?
-for the studs, do i use #10 for front and back?
-for the rear tire..what tube do you use with the liner?
-for the liner..can you cut any old tire and make it fit or should it be a size that fits the inside of the tire without cutting it?
