Hello. I just purchased a used set of fluidyne rads for my ktm smr, and they have mud stains all over them. I was wondering if it was possible to clean this off, and if so, how? Should I just soak them in hot soapy water, or something chemical? My search only turned up answers on how to flush rads. Thank you for your time.

For aluminum I like Spray nine. It is corrosive and removes stains very well. Use a brush on the tanks, flush well with water. Don't touch the fins they are far too delicate.

Cool man, I think my woman has some of that for tattooing.
I'll try it out tomorrow. Thanks.

Meguiars(sp?) Mag Cleaner(for auto wheels).Might turn it a little darker though.Spray on and let sit for 5-10 min. then just hose it off.

Yep. Wheel cleaner is perfect. It won't hurt the aluminum, but will clean the radiators spotlessly. I've done it to mine plenty of times. I use the Autozone brand cleaner, it foams up inside the fins nicely to remove every spec of dirt trapped inside the fins.

Good idea.....

Never thought of that, I guess that's one more thing to add to my list for meticulous cleaning. Eventually, I'm gonna spend more time cleaning than riding..... :~|

No problem! They're not too bad in the first place, I just like to have things clean. I'll post pics today sometime.
