I am having to replacing stator cover on my 2001 DRZ-400e. Currently, I have removed old stator cover with starter motor still intact. How do I remove starter motor from the old case? I have a copy of the factory servive manual, but I cannot find any detail instructions on how to seperate starter from case. Is the motor just pressed in the case?

Yup... it's a little tight. I put a little flat blade screwdriver between the starter and the housing, and gave it a nudge. It will come out. (assuming you have the 2 bolts out of the back of it)
