I am getting ready to rebuild my 05 yz450. I am going to use all OEM parts to rebuild the cylider head, valves, seats, guides etc. Do the new valve seats need cut to match the new valves? My local Yamaha shop says NO. Is this true?

Better find a new shop, quick. They don't know whereof they speak.

The valve seat ABSOLUTELY MUST be refinished when replacing a valve. And regardless what anyone says to the contrary, Ti valves MUST NEVER be lapped.
