I have strapped the two bike's handlebars together in the center and used the tiedown straps on the outside to the bed ancors.

I've always wondered about doing htat but never tried it. No issues?

I have something similiar in my current truck. Box Bar I got from the TT store, works great. http://shop.thumpert...fault.asp?p=255

On previous trucks I used removable Ancra anchors, backed by metal plate, they work great

Works good! Try it. The bars can't turn once tied together. They pull on each other and you can still compress the suspension. I would put riding gear between the two front wheels for support.

Take a look at those. I have a 99 Ranger and use those instead of the bedliner tiedowns and strap the bikes together in the middle when hauling 2
