I have an 04 drz400s and am going to do the 3x3 mod with a JD kit and am curious what all i need to get besides the JD kit and what jetting i should use.

I live at about 350 ft in South Carolina and am planning on using the stock exhaust setup.

thanks

An extended fuel screw is helpful.

Glad to see your thread, I live in East TN and have an 03 klx400sr.
I'm about to install the new jet kit and do the 3x3 mod. Was thinking about buying a new slip on ehaust do they make a difference if so what exhaust would anyone recommend?

Thanks for the fuel screw information, but what else besides that and the jd kit. It comes with all the right jets etc.? And also the right jetting info would be helpful. Thanks

Slip ons only make more noise, the restriction is in the head pipe. MRD/SSW is a great pipe but they are loud.

Eolesley , click on the search button at the top of the page and type in" the master 3x3 post ". It will take you to a link that has video of it being done aswell as all of the jetting info you need . Good luck with it and I hope you enjoy the difference , greg

I ordered the jd kit and extended fuel screw and from what I have read, I'm pretty sure that's all I need. I had already looked at the master 3x3 post, but could not find anything about what particular jetting setup I should use, but Eddie gave me the answer in my other post in the intake and air forum. Thanks everyone

That's all you need. James includes a detailed jetting guide in the kit, and if you still have questions, email him and he will help you. The Keinteck extended fuel screw is the one you want for the stock carb. you want a screw that is either brass or stainless steel. there are some out there made of aluminum that aren't as precisely machined and don't work as well. Also with the aluminum tip, there have been reports of the tip breaking off in the carb and then you have a carb that works better as a paperweight.
Good luck, take your time and if you have questions, post them and someone will help you. Good Luck!
