Had my first in the series of 3 shots of cortisone in my spine (L5-S1) today for my ruptured disc.

Anybody had any experience with this?

Mine is compressed, not bulging. The Dr wants to wait and see how it goes. Have you tried PT and did it help?

Their is nothing like the wonderful burning sensation in my right hip cause by a "compressed disc" in my back. Love the pain pill, etc..... :foul:

No pt, I think it would just agrivate it again. I will say it's been 2 days since getting the EPI, and it does feel much better... pain wise.

I've had over a dozen of these (one cut the dura and caused a leak - required a blood patch). They've been incredibly effective for me - reduces my muscle spasms from my entire back to small ones in my lower back for about 2 1/2 months at a time. They don't like doing them any sooner than 3 -4 month intervals because it is very hard on your immune system.

Hope it works for you.
