JAT, I just broke out my Niterider Classic, same as yours, original in box with 1999 receipt, but has MTB water bottle battery pack and had bicycle handlebar mount. Stopped by Niterider and got helmet mount. Seems to work good though I did not use it this weekend prerunning. Will use it for race though.
FYI, your Airtime HID worked awesome for prerunning Mike's loop saturday night. Gotta figure out how to keep my glasses from fogging up inside my goggles when going slow.
My Wiley X supplier recommended and sent a few samples of fogtech anti fog treatment. For myself, I have used rain x but it didn't perform consistantly, or for very long. I've been wanting to test the fogtech samples, so just now, after seeing your post, I did a comparison test with both glass lenses and with polycarbonate lenses and the fogtech appears to be superior. My test method was to coat the lenses, one lens with rainX fog treatment the other with fogtech, shove em into the freezer for a few minutes, take em out and breathe on them. both worked but fogtech was much cleaner, less distortion.
I saw critiques on line from riders who used fogtech on visors. Mostly they liked it and said it would last a few days, but if they got wet then it was not good. So if you use it try not to crash or do anything that would make you hot and sweaty all over your lenses.
another one that got good reviews on line is called cat crap, it's like a soap or wax that you rub on. I saw one reference to it's being available at REI, which might be pretty handy, if you're in san diego.
If you can't find any, and want to try them, maybe there's a way to get you a couple samples of the fogtech.
